The S&P/ASX 200 index is on course to start the week with a strong gain. In afternoon trade the benchmark index is up almost 0.8% to 6,307.9 points.

Four shares that have climbed more than most today are listed below. Here's why they have started the week on a high:

The Appen Ltd (ASX: APX) share price has surged 4.5% higher to $24.81 despite there being no news out of the language technology data and services provider. A number of popular tech shares are pushing higher on Tuesday, leading to the S&P/ASX 200 Info Tech index climbing a solid 1.2% today.

The Bubs Australia Ltd (ASX: BUB) share price has stormed 10% higher to 95.5 cents after announcing the completion of its Australia Deloraine Dairy acquisition and the $31.44million placement to C2 Capital Partners. Management believes this leaves Bubs Australia well placed to advance its vision to be a leading player in the infant milk formula and infant nutritionals markets at home and in China.

The EML Payments Ltd (ASX: EML) share price has zoomed over 9% higher to $1.90 after the payments company announced an agreement with online betting giant bet365 in the United States. The multi year agreement is for the provision of a bet365 branded reloadable card program in the state of New Jersey. In addition to this, the agreement includes the opportunity to expand the relationship if bet365 commences operations in other states.

The ResApp Health Ltd (ASX: RAP) share price has rocketed 28% higher to 16 cents after the digital health company released positive top-line results from its Australian Breathe Easy adult prospective, double-blind clinical study. ResApp's smartphone-based algorithms were found to accurately diagnose all respiratory diseases included in the study. These include lower respiratory tract disease, pneumonia, asthma exacerbations, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and COPD exacerbations.
